04-14-2010 - 70th Anniversary Celebration For West High
As some of you might have heard West High is celebrating its 70th Anniversary on Sunday August 22, 2010. Yes, it has been 70 years since West opened its doors. We need your help in promoting this event to your class mates.
The afternoon 1:00-5:00pm will include:
> A visual historic presentation of the building process which includes the design by architect Jesse Barloga (Contrary to general opinion West’s design is different than East’s) will be presented by architect Gary Anderson.
> West High will tell all in a speech written for her by a proud West High graduate and author Ray Paul “54”.
> A music program will be presented for your enjoyment.
> Meeting, greeting with school mates and refreshments.
> Memorabilia Room will be open for your perusal.
> The Memorial Garden on the front lawn is a “must”.
We are requesting each graduating class to assist with the financial commitment by contributing $100.00 from your reunion committee.
The budget includes promotional efforts, printing of programs, nametags, posters, refreshments, etc.
We also need 80 ambassadors to welcome guests for 1 hour time slots—20 people each hour 1-5pm. Are you and some of your friends available? Please let us know?
The check for $100.00 should be made out to West High 70th Celebration and sent to Carol Parker, 653 Schauer Lane, Rockford, Illinois, 61107.
Any questions please give us a call 815-332-3377 or email rap364@aol.com.
